Vineyard Residence

Carefully sited on the edge of a sixty-acre vineyard, this monastic stone structure establishes a temporal frame of reference for mapping its physical environment. It is organized around a long reflecting pool, which provides a reorientation among undulating horizons, enhancing the relationship of indoor and outdoor space. The design poetically layers a complex program including agricultural operations, utility infrastructure, auxiliary structures, sculpture, orchards, gardens, follies, and domestic life. by Aidlin Darling Design
